color inspiration from bright star

Green and pink combo

I needed some color inspiration for a project the other day so I turned on Bright Star for just a few minutes. You can watch it online through Netflix right now! I actually find it kind of painful to watch the entire film because it's so, so beautiful. The pink/dark green/honey color scheme in this frame has been on my mind a lot.

  1. I was alone the night I watched this movie, so I got out a long-abandoned embroidery project to keep me company. I hadn’t realized Fanny was a seamstress, so when the movie opened on a needle pushing through thread I actually burst into tears–it was so beautiful, and there I was with my own little sewing! Needless to say, I didn’t get much sewing done because I had to watch the whole thing.

The Keira Knightley Pride and Prejudice (which sounded absurd to me before it came out) and the Ang Lee Sense and Sensibility have pretty much the same effect on me–I cry on and off throughout! The interior lighting in that P&P is especially beautiful.

  2. Great image from the movie – I didn’t remember it -and that fabulous shirt she’s wearing is amazing. You’re right – the colors are absolute perfection!
