Have you heard of a Victoria Sandwich? It consists of two sponge cakes, whip cream, and raspberry jam! I want to make this Victoria Sandwich from Jamie Magazine. The cream has rosewater in it! How lovely is that?

Uhmmm…yumm!
That looks amazing!! Yummy!
some how the fact that this is called a ‘sandwhich’ makes it acceptable to eat whip cream and sponge cake for lunch!
I would LOVE a piece of that right about now : )
this looks delicious and summery. i could make it too, looks simple;)
oh, that sounds like my kind of sandwich, esp. with the rosewater!
this is a sandwich from heaven! love, love, love!
xo,
sylvie of silver lining
Yum!
OMG!!
Oh yes! This was a standard sunday dessert growing up! So yum.
omgosh, that looks amazing! i would love to make one, too:)
A correctly made Victoria sandwich is the best cake there is. Nice with fresh cream but it really should be buttercream… and the sponge needs to be kind of like a Madeira, a little dense, not fluffy and light.
I really want a slice now!!!
That looks delicious! I have a soft spot for cakes with raspberry jam, since that’s what my wedding cake had – many years ago 🙂
oh gosh, what if you combined it with the homemade wedding cake?
either way i’d feel like marie antoinette snacking on that in a meadow.
That is beautiful. It reminds me a bit of Eaton Mess. 🙂
I really, really want to eat this!
Mmmm … deliciously sweet!
