  1. some how the fact that this is called a ‘sandwhich’ makes it acceptable to eat whip cream and sponge cake for lunch!

  2. A correctly made Victoria sandwich is the best cake there is. Nice with fresh cream but it really should be buttercream… and the sponge needs to be kind of like a Madeira, a little dense, not fluffy and light.

    I really want a slice now!!!

  3. That looks delicious! I have a soft spot for cakes with raspberry jam, since that’s what my wedding cake had – many years ago 🙂

  4. oh gosh, what if you combined it with the homemade wedding cake?

    either way i’d feel like marie antoinette snacking on that in a meadow.
