I've received quite a few emails asking for referrals of wedding vendors in the Portland area. Here are several that come strongly recommended (both their work and personalities) and meaning I've actually worked with all of these people. I know that several still have openings for the 2009 season and a few are offering special recession rates!

That’s SO great that you did a post like this !!!!
I live in California-so obvi couldn’t use any of these people, but I am planning a wedding, and wish more people would recommend their favorite wedding vendors.
PS-LOVE the blog! It’s adorable!

Thanks for the recommendations! I’d also love to hear your perspective on ceremony/reception sites, especially outdoors or off the beaten path options.
Thanks, Pfeenie! yes, the list is not complete because I wanted it to be completely trustworthy!:So here are some venues I like but haven’t necessarily worked with or worked with recently:
The Cleaners at The Ace Hote
Bridal Veil Lakes (keep hearing really good things about this one)
Oswego Vineyards (really gorgeous!)
Oswego House (so cute and so cheap but will not hold a lot of people)
Also, some of my favorite venues are simple parks or historic buildings on college campuses.
Hope that helps a little!!:)
I love these wedding pictures…especially the two floating along in the canoe. These are great links…I will have to go have a look around.

That canoe image is so sweet.
hello! lovely photos as usual. can you tell me what those tarts w/ the sugared currants are? where are they from or do you have a recipe? they are so pretty!
Hi Cat,
They are from a wedding that is on the vallsphotographic website. I am not sure who the caterer was for that wedding. For some reason, I want to say it was Culinary Artistry but I could be totally wrong! Sorry I am not more help!
Hi I just wanted to say I photograph weddings everywhere with no travel expenses… California is a lovely place to have a wedding, I love coming down.
The only difference between photographing a wedding here in Portland, or one worldwide, is that we have more phone conversations then face to face meetings, it’s always exciting to travel to a new location and photograph a venue with a fresh eye.
So no matter where you’re having a wedding, do get in touch!
Also I know both the English Dept and Twigs and Honey will ship… and they are my favorites as well!
