Over the last few months, I've spent an unjustified amount of time researching little cottages and cabins in foreign countries. My most recent obsession is searching for the perfect cabin in the Swedish countryside. It must be red, on a body of water and come with a row boat (not a canoe). These are my favorite photos from a bunch of cottages I found here. If it was one cottage, it would be perfect!

What a great obsession! I totally support it!
Oh, these are lovely!
I love epic obsessions. This is a classic one. You have to do it!
My sister stayed at one like this in Norway. No electricity – just a wood stove and a boat for fishing.
these are AMAZING! have you seen this one, floating in the middle of a lake?

Oooooh, Joanna! I want to go there!! It’s a bit out of my budget.. but oh wouldn’t it be amazing?
Oh my God, I’ve had the same obsession for months now! The only difference being that I can’t decide whether I want a red or yellow house. And I love that little boat. I might have to add one to my wishlist.
Oh! in the fall of 05 my family and I stayed in one on a sheep farm near Linköping. it was absolutely stunning. especially with the fall leaves and long light!
I do this too. I have a wanting for a run down house on a greek island with peeling paint and tiled floors.
: )
So cute and adorable! Definitely want to hang out and lay in the sun. Aah!
I’ve been living in Sweden for the past 2 months, and I adore the little red cottages! Even normal houses in the suburbs look like this 🙂
Ah, the swedish summers! We live in darkness for like 8 months a year so I guess we really overrate the weather here in summertime but still.. I absolutely adore being a swede when summer comes. The trees, the flowers, the lakes, the smell. It’s never dark either, it’s like night never sets in, light conquers darkness. :)You should really come and see for yourself 🙂
