This past week, I spent an afternoon with my friend Jaime and her adorable daughter Ava putting together whoopie pies for a web article. I love to work on children's stories, by the way. Little Ava helped assemble the cookies so I can vouch that this is definitely a kid-friendly project! Isn't she a doll?
The easiest (and yummiest) recipe is a combination of two Martha recipes: This one for the cookies and this one for the frosting. The little bags are just painted with stencils and make great favors or classmate treats. If you are going to have sugary treats for Halloween, they might as well be homemade, right?
