In my family we have a long tradition of holding a Christmas tea party, and in particular my mom always made Christmas Eve morning special with platters of lemon bread, jars of lemon curd, hot tea, brioche, and an array of homemade sweets. The Christmas dishes were saved for dinner. I love the idea of making an early morning tea party on Christmas Eve or on the days before, with friends. And the colors don’t have to be traditionally festive. Here, I’ve gathered some of my favorite china bits, in preparation for a holiday tea party. It feels like the daily china has just been taken up a notch with a slight holiday twist, using bits of olive on tea lights, and citrus and greens for table decorations. Candles in the morning make the day feel so special and cozy!
