I wrote an article over at Project Wedding about how to work with lilacs. I know lilac season is nearing an end here in Portland but in other places they are still going strong! Hope it's useful to someone. I sure love these flowers!

This is such a gorgeous shot and bouquet. Love that blue ribbon!
I love lilacs…I just seem to be flower crazy these days and I love getting my fix over here. xo
STUNNING shot, Chelsea! What camera and lens do you use?!
purrretty!
Ah, I didn’t know the trick about submerging in hot water, though after reading that I realise it’s amazing my lilacs survived a hot 5 hour car journey without water last week. Only one wilted!
Super tips! x
my favorite! they are just starting to bloom in sweden so long walks just became so much more lovely. xx
I also learn something new when I read your flower posts. Not only how to trip the lilac stems, but other flowers that are good alternatives for lilacs. Sweet.
Thanks for the sweet comments! Mary: I use a Nikon D40 and a 35mm fixed lens. Claire: That’s amazing! Flowers are really so much more resilient than we think! Sara: Glad you learned something! 🙂
so beautiful!!
