When I had a quick visit to Budapest last fall, my friend Amber and I went into a grocery store that had stacks of wire baskets (instead of the usual plastic ones) for shopping. I love this idea! Fog Linen makes so many cute ones. This one is available at Tinker Supply Co.
Love!
who on earth decided we need those ugly plastic baskets when we could have something as lovely as this one?
yes, it reminds me of former times. old shops in east-europe
I love wire baskets too 🙂 I have one in my kitchen from sur la table.
i love finding baskets like these at flea markets. i always drool over them but haven’t bought one yet. i don’t know what’s holding me back!
What a great idea! I like those wire baskets even just for storing odds&ends around the house!

try to buy stock that are smaller than the holes – chewing gum, etc 🙂 not very efficient!
I`m from Budapest and I`ve never seen baskets like this..
btw the flicker pic owner claims Budapest is like Paris, and she can`t figure out why she feels like that LOL!
Paris, Wien (Vienna) and Budapest were all built in the same era – in the 19 century. no wonder there is certain amount of similarity. that time also the Austrian-Hungarian Empire had its greatest days as well!
