my picks: lands’ end canvas

Lands-end-canvas-frolic-blog

I took a very rare trip to the mall (probably my least favorite place on earth) the other day and happened to notice that the entire bottom floor of Sears is now devoted to Lands' End. I totally got swept up in the cute branding and merchandising of the Canvas line.  I have to say, it's right up my alley. I am a casual girl, I adore classics with a utilitarian-vibe and I've got a very small budget!

I went back a few days later and tried on some pieces. I've gained weight but even my normal sizes were way too big and some of the cuts just didn't work, but a few did. The prices are nice and sensible too. I plan on picking up a few pieces for fall to mix with some thrift store finds. Here's what I loved:

wide belt

button up shirt in plaid, chambray + polka dot

military jacket

riding pants

shirt dress

  1. How tall are you?

I’m 5’9″, and most of my height is in my torso, so I was wondering if this line fits tall girls? I heard a rumor their pieces are going to come in tall sizes in the future, but I’m antsy, it all looks so great!

  2. Hi Betsy.. I am a shorty~ 5’4″ and nothing was too long on me so you may want to hold out for the tall stuff or at least try it on in person first.

  3. Lands End has really stepped it up in the past couple years. Back when I was in middle school and high school they were the company we would order our school uniforms from. And while they had superb quality they were lacking in flattering cuts and stylish clothes. I am so happy they have still kept with their great quality but also got some new designs. Do you know if they recently changed creative directors or something of the like?

  4. Hey Chaucee,

They were sold to Sears a few years back.

Also.. if any of you buy for little kiddies.. Their school uniforms and kids clothes are SO cute! I am buying the cute twill jumpers for my niece for fall even though she doesn’t go to private school:)

  5. I really love that middle outfit. I’ve never given Lands End much thought, but I will start paying more attention. Also, thanks for the fiddie clothes tip. Definitely going to check that out. I love jumpers on little girls. 🙂
