One of our local grocery stores in Portland, Zupan’s, has the best cheese selection. One day I walked in and the cheese specialist, Prince, asked me if he could help me. I was looking for a blue cheese to put on steak. He suggested St. Agur blue cheese because it was mild and so creamy. Then he made a suggestion that changed my life: “Try it on a baguette and drizzle honey on it. It’s amazing.” Okay. Maybe life-changing is a bit strong, but this is a seriously delicious, simple treat. You can get into the gourmet honeys and try different breads, but a smear of St. Agur on a piece of crusty bread and honey – warm or at room temperature. It just doesn’t get any better. It’s addictive.
