Picoso is a Seattle Salsa band. Lucky for us, they are pairing up with Hacienda CDC (one of my favorite Portland non-profits) for Viva La Comunidad. 100% of ticket sales benefit Hacienda’s housing and programs. There will be tamales and Salsa music and it’s at one of my favorite venues, The Wonder Ballroom. I spend $20 just going out to eat with friends at least once a week so I might as well spend $20 doing something more fun that actually helps someone else! If you feel like it, help me spread the word. It’s October 2nd, 7pm at the Wonder Ballroom.

* Just to clarify, this isn’t a fundraiser. 100% of the ticket sales go to Hacienda there is no fundraising during the event.
I will be there! Especially considering its about 2 blocks from my house…I don’t really have an excuse not to go!
*sigh* i bet you’d be a great fundraiser. your site is so CASUAL, so it’s just like having a chat with a friend, that just somehow inspires people to give to worthy causes (ie. this and the Nie fund)..
i just signed up today for a walk that’s in a week and a half, and i know the only money i’ll be able to raise is from my own personal donation. mainly because i have ANOTHER walk i’ll be doing in november that i want to start raising on early, and so this one will have to be kinda by the wayside. it’s so awkward to ask people to donate to causes, ya know? gosh.
anyhow, this event sounds fun. wish i lived out your way! 🙂
