Over the weekend I visited "The Dancer" exhibit at the Portland Art Museum which includes works by Edgar Degas, Jean-Louis Forain (new to me) and Toulouse-Lautrec. I am sort of obsessed with the whole dancer aesthetic so this was really fun to me. I had no idea that the Oregon Ballet Theatre just finished up a French performance series to accompany the exhibit and wish I could have also seen that. Check out the exhibit at the PAM if you are in Portland, it’s around until May.

  1. Oh, to be in Portland. This would be a dream come true! I love Degas. And all things dance-related. I dressed up as the Little Dancer once for a school project. Nerdy, I know.

  2. degas’ ballerinas are my favorite paintings. i wrote a paper on them for art history one year, which would usually make me hate something, but it only made me love them more! wish i was there to see it.
