postcard travels

Currently, I have a shoe box lying around my apartment filled with my Great Aunt Emma’s stash of unused postcards. She and her husband traveled extensively between the 1940’s and the 1970’s. Emma’s collection includes everything from black and white postcards of Paris to Technicolor postcards of Mid-century motels in Florida and Kentucky. My two favorites are a packet of
photographs from Monte Carlo and a postcard featuring a flower stand in
San Francisco.

  1. What an insanely cool thing to have. I’d be hard pressed not to use them in some art collage despite the fact I have no artistic abilities.
