an island farmhouse

I love to read decorating stories about real people like me. People who rent and live on a small budget. I ran across this article about Sophie Gibb and her family in an old Country Living UK (April 2006). She and her family live on Jersey which I believe is one of the Channel Islands (another of my dream islands I'd like to visit). They moved there to escape London and barely fixed up an old rustic farm house they rent, just enough to make it livable. Sophie is a textile guru so she used vintage blankets and woolens to cozy the house. She dyes them and makes them into pillows, curtains, and throws.

  1. OK – There you go with another trip idea! 🙂 I always thought “tropical” when I thought of islands. I never realized what an island girl I was. Thanks for the inspiration!
