Located in the Somerset region of England, Lara grows flowers, herbs, and greenery at her small holding, Manor Farm Cottage Flowers. She growns for florists, as well as her own design clients. Now days, many of the cut flowers used in England by florists are shipped in from other countries but there is a rapidly growing movement to source directly from home and Lara is a part of this exciting trend of grower/florists. I had a blast working along side her for six weeks this summer. She definitely has the art and science of growing flowers down, despite its challenges. Lara has several plots of flowers as well as polytunnels she grows in. Lara is a perfectionist when it comes to cutting just the right blossoms, making sure they are blemish free, well hydrated, and have long enough stems to be used in arrangements and is constantly educating herself through books and classes and trial and error. She’s a huge inspiration! Enjoy this little virtual tour!
