A couple weeks ago I went on a little boat tour through the canals here in Spreewald. It can be a pretty touristy thing to do but a group of us pooled our money together for a private tour one evening and their was no one else out so we just got to enjoy the beautiful evening light and scenery. The boats here are similar to gondolas in Italy but they are simple, long, black wooden boats with wooden seats and there's a driver at the front that steers with a long pole. He drove us past fields of cows, cute houses with lights on, under bridges, past little boat garages, and more. It was really so charming! I'll be sharing a few of my other favorite things about Spreewald soon!

These photos are absolutely gorgeous. What a treat to have the canals to yourselves!
Looks lovely and familiar…
“And down the river’s dim expanse–
Like some bold seër in a trance,
Seeing all his own mischance–
With a glassy countenance
Did she look to Camelot.
And at the closing of the day
She loosed the chain, and down she lay;
The broad stream bore her far away,
The Lady of Shalott.”
(googled it 🙂
Looking so beautiful, seems like cool natural phenomena around you.
