I saw a matinee of Please Give yesterday and really liked it, even though the ending was a bit underwhelming. If you prefer great dialogue and interesting characters to action/adventure (boooooring!) then you will probably like it too. Plus, two of the characters own a vintage furniture shop with lots of Mid-Century eye candy.
I really like the female perspective in Nicole Holofcener's films (She also wrote/directed Friends with Money). The women are always a bit more complex and there is always one character that I can identify with.
I loved the strong female actors, too – Catherine Keener and Rebecca Hall…tough to go wrong!
Oh! Glad to hear you liked it! I was thinking of catching it while it’s at the Living Room.
i need to watch this.
i did amanda peet’s hair when she was promoting it and it sounded so good!
i totally love the poster…but then i love hearts!
i loved this, too!
i can’t wait to see it, i adore catherine keener.
oh, i LOVED friends with money. i felt like i could identify with every single character. this one is definitely going on the ‘to see’ list, and maybe i’ll even treat myself to a trip to the theater!
Friends with Money is my favorite! I’ll definitely have to check this one out.
Ooh thanks, I’m going to check this out! (And Friends With Money!)
