Since I started working in the retail industry years ago, I’ve developed some cynicism towards consumerism and the holidays. This letterpress card I bought at Wordstock last month pretty much sums up how I’ve felt the past few years. I recognized my poor attitude early on this season and so I am going to try and change my perspective as soon as possible so I can enjoy some of the holiday spirit:)

I completely understand. I will try my best to stay away from working retail during christmas after this year. Meanwhile, I am finding therapy in making handmade gifts with handmade packaging to send out to everyone this christmas. I find that it at least reduces “my quintessential rolling-of- the- eyes bah humbug” mood I tend to get when working retail christmas. Blech! commercialism BAH humbug it all!
